About PrepFiction
Because cooking on a weeknight sometimes feels like fiction.
I started cooking ahead the week I ran out of dinner ideas three evenings in a row and ate cereal standing up. Not for macros, not for a body goal — just to stop making the same decision at seven in the evening when I had nothing left to decide with.
So this site is meal prep for people who do not particularly enjoy cooking during the week. Everything here comes out of a normal supermarket, gets eaten over several days, and is judged on how it tastes on day three — which is the only test that matters.
What you will find here
- Weekly Plan — one cooking session, the shopping list, and what it came to.
- Make-Ahead Breakfast — the ones that survive until Thursday, and the one that goes soggy.
- 20-Minute Dinners — with a timer actually running.
- Budget Cooking — cheap weeks with the receipt attached.
- Pantry & Gear — containers and staples, tested long enough to know.
How I work
- Every recipe is cooked before it is published, in a normal home kitchen with normal equipment.
- Timings are measured, not estimated. If it took forty minutes, it says forty minutes.
- Prices are from an actual receipt and carry the month they were paid, because groceries do not stay still.
- If something did not reheat well, that is in the article too — usually near the top.
- Recipes are updated when I find a better way, with a note on what changed.
Why there is no photo of me
A monogram instead of a face. I would rather you trusted the timings than a portrait, and I am not going to invent a chef who does not exist. The hands in the photos are mine, the kitchen is mine, and that is as personal as this gets.
